Direct investment by Europeans in American car companies (always Chrysler, in fact) has been uniformly disastrous in the past. If he can raise the money in spite of his history of being a right over the top optimist, I like Stronach's chances. For Germany, he also offers the benefit of fortifying the Austrian economy which will be first in first out if they are forced to save any EU country from their excesses.
