David Beim: Citi is too big to nationalize
Beim is a Columbia Business School professor. He was there back when I was at Columbia, although I don’t remember being in any of his classes.
Basically, he thinks Citigroup needs to be shrunk down and sold off in pieces.
Before he became a Professor, Beim worked as an Investment Banker at First Boston and Dillon Read, two white shoe firms that are now defunct, absorbed into the Swiss giants Credit Suisse and UBS respectively. He also was at Bankers Trust, now a part of Deutsche Bank.
