Katie Couric: What newspapers do YOU read?

In her interview with Sarah Palin, Katie Couric asked the vice-presidential candidate what newspapers she reads to get current on world affairs. Palin’s response was: “ALL of them.” Take a look at the video below.

Before the last week or so, I was willing to give Sarah Palin the benefit of the doubt. Now, It’s dawning on me that she’s not very informed. Having this person one heart beat away from the Presidency during the greatest economic crisis in 80 years is, quite frankly, frightening.

For what it’s worth, I don’t read any newspapers, except online.

She did not need to name a paper. She addressed the underlying question posed by Couric…. How do you ‘know anything’ coming from Alaska. I applaud her for getting PO at Couric and not being baited by a pointless question.

  2. Fair enough, she addressed the question by attacking Couric’s motives. However, it was obvious from her response that she either doesn’t read newspapers or could not think of any that she read.

Couric asked Hillary Clinton similarly inane but simple questions in an interview she had with the former First Lady. Clinton was much more prepared and handled the questions, both substantive and non-substantive with aplomb and tact.

The same can not be said of Palin.

I agree. How difficult is it to come up with the New York Times or the Chicago Tribune? I am frankly quite worried she could be our next VP.

  4. Obviously Palin froze. While I have sympathy, I can’t fathom that someone looking to be elected Vice President couldn’t reel off 1 or 2 paper names just like that.
