Chart of the day: US Federal government spending

This is yet another chart from Perot Charts. I intend to highlight a number of these charts in my coming ‘chart of the day’ series because they present a comprehensive picture of the challenges the U.S. Federal Government faces. Also, note that my base case scenario over the near-term for Federal tax receipts is significantly worse than the figures released by the Government.

Today I am highlighting Mandatory spending because it has become the largest part of Federal spending. I’ll leave you to make your own analysis. For Perot’s take on this, go to Perot Charts here.

This post is part of my series.
