Case-Shiller Time Machine

I was just reviewing the Case-Shiller local metropolitan indices and saw that as the decline gets steeper, each of the 20 markets is reverting back to price levels 3 and 4 years in the past. So, here’s what I have on each metro area as of March 2008.

8. FL-Tampa———-February 2005
9. GA-Atlanta——–February 2005
10.IL-Chicago——–January 2005
11.MA-Boston———January 2004
12.MI-Detroit——–June 1999
13.MN-Minneapolis—-May 2003
14.NC-Charlotte——March 2008
15.NV-Las Vegas——April 2004
16.NY-New York——-May 2005
17.OH-Cleveland——January 2002
18.OR-Portland——-April 2006
19.TX-Dallas———April 2005
20.WA-Seattle——–June 2006

Best Market: Charlotte. Still going up.
Worst Markets: Detroit and Cleveland
