Michael Burry Profiled: Bloomberg Risk Takers

Below is a good video profile of Michael Burry on Bloomberg Television.

July 20 (Bloomberg) — "Bloomberg Risk Takers" profiles Michael Burry, the former hedge-fund manager who predicted the housing market’s plunge. He forecast that the bubble would burst as early as 2007, and he acted on his conviction by betting against subprime mortgages. The former head of Scion Capital LLC was profiled in Bloomberg columnist and bestselling author Michael Lewis’ book "The Big Short". (Source: Bloomberg)

Sorry not watched all of this but from the intro
it seems strange that people still characterise the GFC as a “black swan” event. It was a bubble (based on debt) and it went pop.

Right. There was a nice clip of Warren Buffett saying similar things. But really, to anyone paying attention, as Burry clearly was, the whole thing seemed unsustainable – and it was.
