According to RealClearPolitics.com, Barack Obama has picked up a considerable number of delegates since the Indiana and North Carolina primaries. He now has 1887 delegates, only 138 delegates short of his total needed for victory. Since the beginning of the month, Obama has gained 150 delegates.
Magic Number: 138
It may be interesting to note that there may come a point when there aren’t enough delegates left for Hillary Clinton to win under any circumstances. She has 1719 delegates, 306 short of the total needed. Watch as the number of remaining delegates dwindles after May 20th. It may be mathematically impossible for her to win as super-delegates cast there vote and after Oregon and Kentucky (with 51 and 52 delegates respectively for 103 total delegates) have voted.
