Who remembers the 1990s? No, I’m not talking about Grunge or OJ or even the Internet Bubble. I’m talking about the Clinton Presidency. Great decade, huh?

Well, we all have a problem with romanticizing the past by remembering the good and forgetting the bad. The same is true about the Clinton Presidency. Economically, times were generally better than they are today. But, I remember the 1990s as period of deep partisan division and White House scandal.

In fact, it is the scandalous Clinton White House years that has been the elephant in the room throughout this primary season. While there is so much mudslinging today, strangely none of those massive scandals have become a campaign issue. Remarkable.

Yet, Hillary Clinton remains tarnished by that period in the mind of voters. Many of us see her as downright untrustworthy. And it is in that guise that we also see the Tuzla exaggeration dust-up. Kimberley Strassel gives voice in today’s Wall Street Journal to the strange lack of memory about the Clinton scandals and the piling on that has occurred over Tuzla.

She calls Tuzla a “proxy” for all the Clinton scandals we are still trying to forget.
